Tate Members: Frida – The Making of an Icon, Tate Modern

Frida: The Making of an Icon at Tate Modern explores Frida Kahlo’s extraordinary life, art and lasting cultural influence. Running from 25 June 2026 to 3 January 2027, the exhibition presents more than 30 works by Kahlo alongside photographs, personal artefacts, garments and jewellery. It also features works by artists influenced by her legacy, offering insight into how Kahlo became a global cultural icon. The exhibition explores her many identities and the phenomenon of “Fridamania”, including the transformation of her image into a worldwide brand.
